White River Bridge closed: The White River Bridge along Highway 410 between Buckley and Enumclaw is closed until further notice due to damage. The detour adds up to 45 minutes of travel. Hikers planning to travel along 410 should take this additional travel time into consideration.
Cascade River Road detour: The Skagit River Marblemount Bridge will be closed between Sept. 2–16 for construction. Cascade River Road will not be accessible from Marblemount; hikers aiming to reach Cascade River Road will need to start from Rockport and use SR 530.
Road closure: Albian Hill Road in Colville National Forest will be closed between Aug. 25–Sept. 8 for construction. This restricts access to the Ryan Cabin, Old Stage and Old Stagecoach trails.
Hot weather on the way: There’s hot weather rolling in across the whole state this weekend, with heat advisories in many places. Be sure to read up on how to stay cool and have everything you need while you’re outside — sun protection, lots of water — and check out some of our favorite shady hikes.
