Big Bend Wildlife Area — Sunday, May. 3, 2026

Did a two night backpack at this remote wilderness area. There are no trails, just some old forest roads. We went off trail to Black Lake for the first night and for the second we made our way to the gorge. Beautiful place with a lot of little lakes and wildflowers everywhere. The water in the lakes is not always the best. It’s sometimes salty. There is a little running water here and there and it is marked on gaia, on the map. We only saw 2 other people during our 3 day exploration.
