Iverson Railroad Trail — Thursday, Apr. 16, 2026

Issaquah Alps > Tiger Mountain

Started out from the parking lot, which has been improved this last year and a large new parking lot next to it.   The parking lot is now paved and there is another toilet in the newer parking lot. It is a very large Parking area with at least 50 parking spots. The muddy spot just as you turn in off of Highway 18 is a major mess filled with huge water filled potholes but once you get past that and go up the hill to the parking lot it is great.

Today it was snow covered when we arrived due to a late snowstorm yesterday, so we got wet from the snow, melting off of the trees as we hiked.

The trail is in good condition. Well drained with a few puddles because of the all the rain we received yesterday and last night. A few downed trees that we easily could get under or around. We started on Iverson and did the side hustle trail and then on the TMT up to the old remains of a train wreck from 100 years ago. We turned around at that spot because we were so wet from the falling snow off of the trees. Walking back most of the snow had already melted off and by the time we got back to the car, there was no snow in the parking lot at all. Saw no others on the trails we were on.  Total of 5 miles.

New parking area.

Comments

Hikers are technically allowed on the Side Hustle trail in Tiger Mountain but it is primarily a popular blue-difficulty mountain biking trail (it was built by mountain bikers). Hikers should exercise caution, be aware of downhill bikers, and consider using alternative hiking-only trails. Because it was snowy, it was probably a good time to hike the trail, but after the snow melts, thats one of the most popular mtn bike trails on Tiger.
Thanks!
