We started our hike around 11 with the that of rain in the forecast. Our plan was to hike past the sunset mine sub trail and explore some of the trail above. The trail has dozens of blowdowns in the 4 miles we hiked to an impassable Trout Creek. We donned our rain gear a couple times but at our turn around point we put the fear away and hiked in the sun. We clocked exactly 8 miles and 1900ft of overall elevation gain. We explored some side roads and some amazing Boulder fields. The mossiness is amazing up here.
