Hiking Russell Ridge

The Russell Ridge trail takes you along Russell Ridge, and offers connections to multiple other trails, including the Ironstone Mountain Trail (#1141) — providing access to Ironstone Mountain, Burnt Mountain and McNeil Peak — and the Wildcat Trail (#1113).

Note: Ironstone Mountain is commonly accessed along the Ironstone Mountain Trail via the Ironstone Mountain Trailhead.

Getting There

Take Highway 12 west from Yakima to a right turn on NF-1308, just past Indian Creek Campground. Continue for 0.8 miles, where NF-1308 turns right and becomes NF-1382. In 2.2 miles, take a sharp left to stay on NF-1382. You'll hit the trailhead in about 1.5 miles.
