Registration for WTA's annual Hike-a-Thon is officially open. This community fundraising event takes place throughout August and gives you the opportunity to raise funds for the public lands you love. Check out this year's Hike-a-Thon prizes — our way of thanking you for stepping up for trails!
Registration for this year’s Hike-a-Thon is now open! Hike-a-Thon is a community fundraising event that gives you the opportunity to give back to the places you love to hike.
As government agencies face budget and staffing cuts, supporting WTA is one of the best ways you can protect public lands — and Hike-a-Thon is the most FUN way to do so!
Registration is free, and anyone can participate. Once you register for Hike-a-Thon, we’ll provide you with a custom fundraising page that you can share with your community. Throughout August, you can hike anywhere in the world, from your neighborhood park to backcountry trails.
When you participate in Hike-a-Thon, you’ll earn prizes for reaching fundraising milestones — the more you raise, the more you’ll get! Plus, there are weekly prize giveaways, BINGO and more. You’ll also receive a Hike-a-Thon sticker and, once you raise or donate $35, you’ll get a T-shirt you can wear to show your support for trails.
Check the prizes below, then sign up for Hike-a-Thon and hit the trail for your chance to take them home!
Hike-a-Thon T-shirt — $35
Move over red carpet, this shirt is designed for adventures. Soft, stylish and supports trails — what’s not to love? Wear your Hike-a-Thon shirt proudly, knowing you’re making a difference for public lands. You might just spot a fellow Hike-a-Thoner on one of your adventures!

5-in-1 travel camping fork with WTA logo — $100
Have you ever been eating your food with a fork and thought “I wish I could use this fork to eat my soup and cut up my chocolate for smores?” Well, you’re in luck! This little fork can get the job done, and so much more. It is the perfect little tool to pop open those stubborn bear cans, too. Add a carabiner and clip it to your pack so everyone you pass will know you’re a WTA supporter.

Field notebook with WTA logo — $250
The trail is a tough place to be a notebook. From being soaked by a leaky water bottle, covered in spilled cocoa or splattered with soup, anything could happen. That’s why you need one of these tough little trail notebooks. With waterproof and tear-resistant paper made from natural stone, this book is up to whatever you throw at it!

Odditys bag donated by Gossamer Gear with WTA logo — $500
Tired of losing your keys, wallet, snacks or other odds and ends in your pack? You might just need this handy Odditys bag. It’s ultralight and ultra useful — no more rummaging around in your bag endlessly. Plus, it’s made from remnant pieces of fabric, so you’ll be helping to reduce waste while keeping better track of your gear. A win win!

Classic legendary camp mug donated by Stanley 1913 with WTA logo — $1,000
It’s a legendary classic! This tough mug will keep your hot drinks hot and your cold drinks cold wherever life takes you. On the go or at home, it’s the best mug around. (Please note that the color and size of the mug may vary.)

Geoduck travel pillow donated by Feathered Friends — $2,500
Geoducks — they’re not just for eating. Turns out, they make great pillows too. But before you head down to the beach with a shovel, give this feather lite version a try. Stuff it into its integrated stuff sack while you’re hiking, then release it and enjoy the soft comfort while you sleep. Sweet dreams!

Eos down jacket donated by Feathered Friends — $5,000
Weighing less than a few pikas, this cozy jacket will keep you warm on your adventures. It packs down small, making it easy to bring along and keep handy for when the weather turns chilly. It works great layered over that fancy Hike-a-Thon T-shirt — a winning combination for sure!

Gear package donated by Outdoor Research — $10,000
You did it! You’ve earned the top prize. And it turns out it’s not just one, but FIVE prizes. A grand prize indeed! You’ll be able to carry all of your prizes (or gear) in style in your very own CarryOut Duffel. This bag is comfortable and durable, with plenty of room for extra snacks. You can load it up with a pair of ActiveIce Choma Full Sun Gloves, perfect for keeping your hands free of blisters and sunburn on hot sunny days. Toss in your Echo hoodie to keep you cool and fend off the sun’s rays. Save room for your Swift Cap to help keep the sun off your head and out of your eyes. And don’t forget to bring along your Foray or Aspire 3L rain jacket in case some sudden showers pop up.
