Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Little library near the pavilion

I went for a quick 30 min walk at lunch to stretch my legs. I passed two other hikers, one stopped at the little library near the pavilion. There were about 20 cars in the parking lot most of whom were in the lodge attending an event. The trails were well maintained, particularly after the big windstorm from the previous day. This winter park staff spread a lot of fresh wood chips on a few of the inner trails between the lodge and the ball fields. On this cold winter day, I was excited to see some signs of spring with buds starting to emerge on shrubs. The Indian plum (Oemleria cerasiformis) was blooming in some areas. #LoveLocalTrails #WTAstaff
