Gold Creek is a really lovely retreat convenient to Kirkland/Woodinville! The entire area is a lush green and the forest makes for a wonderful relaxing hike. We did one of the several possible loops.
More details for reactive dog owners! If you're curious about reactive dogs you can learn more in my bio.
Trail Width: The trail is just wide enough for two people to pass in most places, about 3 feet.
Visibility: Trees make it harder to see around bends but I was able to hear people coming rather than be surprised, and in many sections you can see far ahead.
Pull-offs: This area has heavy brush in most places that makes pulling off trail difficult. Don't count on being able to get off trail if needed.
Crowds: On a summer weekday morning I saw 2 other people on trail. I didn't run into any today, but be aware this trail is also used by bikers and equestrians.
Parking: The lot is large and I rarely encounter anyone else there. There is plenty of space to move away from other cars.
Misc: Horses also use this trail and there is a lot of horse poop! Be on the lookout so you don't step in it, and work on a strong leave it if you don't want your dog snacking! Some sections of trail have steep, loose gravel where you might slip with a strong puller.
