Trails for everyone, forever

Hi! I'm Cassie and I hike with my pup Jasmine. To help make our trails more accessible for everyone I'm sharing important info for reactive dog owners in my trip reports! Reactive dogs are dogs that may overreact to a trigger, usually new people or dogs. This can be due to fear, anxiety, frustration, or any number of other causes. I'm sharing details that help reactive dog owners find trails suitable for their dogs so we can all safely enjoy our hikes! These dogs can really benefit from the physical and mental stimulation a hike provides, but it is often hard to know if a trail will provide enough space for them before heading out. With more information available owners can plan better and prevent situations that will be uncomfortable for their dog or for other trail users. You can help by keeping your own dogs under control, giving dogs you meet on trail space, and always asking before you approach a dog you don't know! Sharing information about trail width, crowds, and terrain in your trip reports is also helpful!
