Trip Report

Kalaloch - Browns Point — Friday, Nov. 29, 2019

Olympic Peninsula > Pacific Coast
Tree of Life - Kalaloch Beach

I had seen photos of this tree in trip reports and didn't want to miss the opportunity to stop and see it as I drove the Pacific Coastline.

The easiest access point nearest the Tree of Life is the parking area right at the Kalaloch Campground.  A few steps down the rough and rickety stairs leading down to the beach and a few short steps to the north and this amazingly resilient tree hangs over the ledge just above the beach.

A stream trickles down through the roots as it continues to erode the bank and make its way to the beach and into the ocean.

This is truly  amazing to see, and just ponder how long it has been there, and how much longer it will continue to keep watch from its overhang above the beach.  Very cool.
