Got one of the last proper parking spots at the end of the Sol Duc Rd at 11am. The trail was less crowded than expected: Didn't encounter anyone past the Appleton Pass trail junction. There was one couple camping at Appleton Pass just before Oyster Lake. Set up camp on the large flat meadow above Oyster Lake. The trails were well-maintained, just one blowdown that required climbing over (or under) on the Appleton Pass trail. Lots of blueberries (most of which didn't taste all that good), and some thimbleberries. Lots of different mushrooms as well. Found: One water filter and one sleeping pad. Left both items at the Eagle Ranger Station (360-327-3534).
