I hiked from the Indian Painted Rocks trailhead to the Lower St. George trailhead and back again, with a side loop on Trail 504 on my return (7.8 mi). It was a gorgeous day and the wildflowers were rampant! I saw a couple turkeys and a deer.
After the steep climb I was delighted for find a bench overlooking the Little Spokane River valley. Perfect for a rest and a snack.
Parts of the trail are narrow and eroded from runoff, but it wasn't muddy when I was there. Mosquitoes were annoying enough that I was glad to have repellent and long sleeves.
Despite ample signs indicating dogs and bikes are not permitted, I saw signs of both.
