I picked an ideal day for my first visit to Trautman Ranch Conservation Area -- deep blue sky, abundant wildflowers, and a WTA trail crew hard at work! I enjoyed talking with crew members about plans for the area. They were improving a section of trail intended for access via track-mounted wheelchairs.
I walked a 3.5-mile loop around the area, then followed up with a 1.8 mile circuit that encompasses much of the track chair route.
The trail is a mix of sun and shade. There were a few mosquitoes, but not bad.
