Slowly working through all of the hikes in Craig Romano’s Urban Trails Bellingham while waiting for more of the 100 classics to melt out/road access.
The Hertz trail leaves from a spacious parking lot, there is also plenty of roadside parking if needed. Privy and garbage can present. I didn’t use the privy so cannot comment on the condition.
The trail itself was in outstanding condition, well brushed all the way to the end. I was curious if the trail would just taper off into brush but it turns out there is a hard stop at the end that is fenced off. You can also access the water there. Lots of people on the trail but it was nice and quiet after the 2 mile marker.
