Trip Report

Sauer's Mountain — Thursday, Apr. 23, 2026

Central Cascades > Leavenworth Area
This trail is on private property. The parking lot is small and can only fit about 10 cars at the trailhead, so if there are more than that when you arrive, please find another trail to hike. Parking beyond the signs is not allowed. Clear towing warnings are displayed. Dogs are allowed on this trail and must be on a leash. There is a porta-potty at the trailhead.

The trail is well maintained. Make sure to download your maps before venturing there. There are several forks in the trail so we had to keep checking the map a couple times. The trail is steep, narrow and exposed with some shaded sections. Spring is the right time to hike this trail. You get great views of the Enchantments.

Mainly Balsamroot is blooming abundantly, but you also see Lupines and few Indian Paintbrush here and there.

Great views for most of the hike. My strava recorded 6miles and 2000ft elev gain. Highly recommend!
