Completed a short, clockwise lollipop loop, starting at the unsigned upstairs parking lot just north of the Dusty Lake trailhead.
Road Conditions. The final two miles were unpaved and dusty, but smooth. Had to approach from the north, as the gate at the south end was posted as closed. Parking lot had a vault toilet.
Trail Conditions. No obstacles, but some steep sections with loose dirt and rocks (going counterclockwise might have been easier). No signage, or drinkable water.
Highlights. Lots of wildflowers in bloom, mainly in the areas above the lakes.
Crowds. Only a few of cars in the large parking lot. On the trail we encountered a couple hikers/backpackers, two parties on horseback, and a dozen or so runners who were participating in an organized event. Counted two dozen tents set up in the Ancient Lakes area.
