Did a bit of urban hiking, from Lake Stickney to Picnic Point. For such a small park, Lake Stickney Park was very pretty, with lots of short, muddy little trails dead-ending at the marsh, which is just awakening for spring. The playground was a cool one, too, though there are not currently any port-a-potties.
Picnic Point reminds me a lot of Carkeek Park: a wastewater treatment plant about half a mile up the road, then a salmon stream leading down to the sound, which you reach by crossing a bridge over the railroad tracks.
The parking lot had four cars in it, and there was a port-a-potty in somewhat rough shape (dirty floor scattered either muddy paper seat covers, toilet itself very full, and accessible grab bar in the back installed in a way that made it impossible to close the lid). It did, however have two rolls of TP.
In short, Picnic Point was all right, but I think if I bring the kid next time, we’ll find a place to go potty in advance, then stick with exploring the tiny marsh up at Lake Stickney.
