It looked like there would be a break in the rain for a few hours midday so I decided to head to the Foothills trail to get in a quick walk. I started at the North Park lot in Orting and walked east.
The trail was in good condition with only one small section that had water over the trail. I walked about 3 miles to the next trailhead then turned back. The portable toilet at the second trailhead was in decent condition.
This section of the trail has beautiful close-up views of the Carbon River and was a great way to get in some miles before the rains started back up.
