Trail description is accurate- a lovely woodsy walk with some brushy sections where it’s a little hard to see the trail but pretty easy for the feet to find it. Aside from a couple of logs to step over or duck under, and the brushy bits, the trail is in good condition. There are several nice camp sites. Ours was on the creek and had the bonus of three American dippers hanging out in the stream: bird TV! We hiked in and camped about a mile past Camp Handy on day 1, hiked to the end of the trail the next day, returned to camp for more relaxation and bird watching, and hiked out day 3.
Big thanks to WTA for the trail work in 2015, to the crews that built one spectacular and two fine footlog bridges, and to whoever has been up there clearing logs. As one of my hiking companions said, anywhere else in the country this would be a highlight hike.
