I decided to take a quick walk through West Hylebos after a nearby appointment. The trail that branches off towards the picnic area is currently closed for boardwalk construction but the main loop trail is open. A large area of the boardwalk has been freshly powerwashed, making it less slippery. Most of the informational graphics are removed right now, but there are temporary directional signs with mileage at the intersections. I took the spur out to the lake, where I saw a handful of mallards and a single male wood duck.
This park is such a treasure in the middle of Federal Way and I appreciated having a peaceful spot to take a short walk today.
