After a great hike along the Lower Mad River, we set up camp at Silver Falls Campground, then hiked the Interpretive Trail which was right next to our campsite. It's a nice easy trail, with a loop of about a half mile, and another section of the trail heading a quarter mile south from the end of the loop - total mileage of 1 mile on the trail. The trail along the river is gravel, while the rest of the loop is pavement. There are a lot of interpretive signs along the hike; I lost count, but definitely more than 10, with information on the history of the valley and local ecosystem. There is no parking at the start of the trail, so if not camping, you will need to walk in from the Silver Falls trailhead/parking area.
