Wow this hike really has it all. The views are some of the best of any hike I’ve done in Washington. We saw all four volcanoes (Adams is incredibly close) and sweeping views of Gifford Pinchot down to the Gorge. There was a mountain goat at the summit and we had the summit all to ourselves. We only saw a couple of other groups on the way in and out which was very surprising considering that it’s a relatively quick and easy hike with stellar views. There were pretty wildflowers and butterflies on the trail through the forest and the shade kept us relatively cool on this very warm day. The summit had enough of a breeze to cool us off and keep the flies from bothering us. Road to the trailhead has a few bumps but our low clearance sedan did just fine. Truly a 5-star hike.
