Arriving to a sparse parking lot I hiked the loop counterclockwise starting around 9 AM. The balsamroot are juuuuuust past their peak and the lupine is in full swing. On the Coyote Cliffs Trail the poison ivy is almost fully leafed and I have to say I have never seen a more healthy crop, ever. If I was to hike with a pet, I would rethink this trail. Connecting the Atwood Road and Coyote Trails is a bit problematic in that the tradition link sports a 'trail closed to repect public property' sign. Lets just say I made the link.
I arrived back at the trailhead at 1:30 to a totally full parking lot and cars were parked out to SR 14. Obviously no one works anymore :). Great hike under a sunny sky and recommended to all whether you work or not.
