Hiking Coyote Wall

Thanks to an extensive planning process in this popular area, this formerly user-created trail has been re-routed and improved to make it enjoyable for hikers and mountain bikers, and sustainable for the land it is on.

Now, hikers can add the Coyote Wall trail into several different loop options including extending their Moab/Maul Loop or the Labyrinth Loop.

Alternately, it's possible to create your own large loop starting on the Old Ranch Road and hiking up to the Atwood trail. Turn left onto Atwood, hich takes you to the top of Coyote Wall, then turning left onto the Little Moab Trail before returning to your starting point.

WTA Pro Tip: Save a copy of our directions before you leave! App-based driving directions aren't always accurate and data connections may be unreliable as you drive to the trailhead.

Getting There

From Vancouver: For the scenic route, take Hwy 14 east, through Stevenson and on to Bingen. For a slightly faster route, follow I-84 upriver on the Oregon side and cross over at Hood River (toll), following the signs to White Salmon. Turn right (east) on Highway 14 to go to Bingen.

Once in Bingen, go 3.5 miles east to Courtney Road. The trailhead is between mileposts 69 and 70 on the left side of the highway. The trailhead is on your right, marked by a sign.
