I bailed on a more popular planned backpack due to volume of people, and opted to check out this day hike instead. Not a lot to add to the previous report by the Wall Family, though I will respectfully disagree on the bugs. While I had no issues with the flies on the way up, they were waiting on top and pretty aggressive on the descent.
I arrived at the north TH shortly before 9:30 am and began the steep ascent. This trail pays the bills fast, aggressively climbing the entire way to the Tatoosh Lake junction. But the views up high are well worth the work, especially from the top of the unmarked peak, which I reached ~12:30.
The descent went fast, as one would expect. Time to get down was 1 hour.
Masks were 50% I would say.
While I carried the camera gear up, it never left my pack. I just don't like leaving valuables in my vehicle, so put up with the extra weight. These are all phone pics.
