2025 Annual Report

Read through WTA’s annual report and learn how your support helped us create a lasting impact for trails.

Take a glance through WTA’s annual report from 2025 to learn how support from members and funders helped build momentum toward our vision of trails for everyone, forever.

During a year full of challenges, including threats to sell off public lands, agency staffing reductions and impacts from weather events across the state, we at WTA are proud of the incredible milestones we were able to achieve with the support of our community in 2025.

  • Our gear libraries supported over 6,000 outings for community partners, helping break down barriers to the outdoors with gear lending and financial assistance.
  • WTA’s website and Hiking Guide remained the go-to resources for hikers, with more than 16,000 new trip reports shared to help others explore safely and confidently.
  • With the help of over 2,700 volunteers, we delivered the equivalent of over $4.8 million in essential trail work across Washington — work that is increasingly challenging for land managers to take on alone.

As we move forward into 2026 and beyond, we are excited to embark on a new strategic plan guided by four focus areas: defending public lands, growing the next generation of outdoor leaders, building an outdoors movement and connecting all communities to trails.
