Ruth Ittner passed away in early June, at age 92. I didn't know Ruth well--I'd only met her a few times--but I know her impact--on public lands, on her beloved Iron Goat Trail, and on the people she inspired to join her in her journey of political activism.

Sawtooth Logout a Success!

Working on ten different trails, the Sawtooth volunteer crew cleared a total of 27 miles! Approximately 70 trees were cross-cut (over 80 cuts made) and over 50 trees were cleared with hand-saws.

Road updates on the MBS

Two big pieces of road news that will affect hikers this summer: the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie is announcing closures of the Suiattle River Road (off the Mountain Loop Highway); and the Canyon Creek Road (off the Mt. Baker Highway).
