The river along the trail by Cliff Birdsall
Started off early and saw a beautiful sunrise coming up over the Cascades. We hit the trail at about 8:30. The trail (old road) up to the hotsprings is in excellent shape. Everything is well signed so getting there will be no problem. Currently there is a lot of water so the river and creeks are full. There is an impressive waterfall immediately after the trailhead. There is not much for views on the trail. I would recommend taking the middle fork trail up if you are equipped for water crossings. It is much prettier. Beware of high water. We chose the main 4.5 mile route because there are not any water crossings at all. There is a new bridge in place a half mile from the caretakers cabin. The staff is super friendly, there is a nice changing platform which is covered. Not for the shy. It's not enclosed. The hot springs are immaculate and I recommend going back into the cave. The hot water and the solitude are amazing.
