A gorgeous first day of summer -- sunny and warm at the top. Most of the dozen or so hikers we saw stopped at the snow patch; the snow was soft but it was hard to avoid postholing a few times. (As others have said, you can also climb the rocks next to the snow.) There were bugs at the top but they weren't biting, so I won't check that checkbox.
