Lord Hill Regional Park — Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Some of this route was bushwacking. Find a map at the parking lot.
This park is Snohomish/Monroe's version of Cougar Mtn or Tiger. There are lots of trails on second-growth forest, with views of the valley below. We started off with the idea of hiking a couple miles and doing a little 'caching, but somehow ended up wandering much of the park an getting over 2000' gain and about 11 miles, along with a couple ""peaks"" and 10 'caches. I wish we'd brought food! I bonked pretty badly. But a good time was had by all. Some of the trails can get a little muddy, but were nicely frozen today. Saw two horses and no mountain bikes, a couple deer, some knawed-off trees but no beavers, and good views.
