A fourteen-inch diameter log blocks the trail at 3.3 miles. There are a few very small snow patches 1/4 mile from Diamond Lake (elevation 5100 feet). Nice views from the ridge with a good view of Mt Daniel at the wilderness boundary. Mosquitoes at Diamond Lake. Heather, vanilla leaf, foamflower, marsh marigold, Hood's phlox, glacier lily, fan-leaved cinquefoil and bicoloured lupine were seen. Pikas heard in rocks above trail. Skies were clear with moderate temperatures.
