Nothing like a little cold water to thin out the crowd! When i left at 9:30 the Chiwawa was up to my thigh; when i returned six hours later it was reaching my waist, but still didn't deter at least two other groups i met on the trail. Though over- grown in spots the trail is easy to follow and in pretty good shape. After a grueling climb i arrived at the snow-free pass and soaked in the stunning view of the Napeequa valley. Having moved from NY a couple weeks ago (adding to the overpopulated Northwest) i am glad to be in hiker's heaven!-Stan
