Puget Sound and Islands > Bellingham Area
Sharpe Park, Porpoise Point trail

In the winter of 2024, WTA volunteers have continued to make trail improvements at this wonderful Skagit County Park on Fidalgo Island.  Their most recent activity was a 140 foot realignment of an overly steep portion of the Porpoise Point trail.  This particular trail is part of a "lollipop" configuration of three trails which spur off of the main route to Sares Head - Porpoise Point to Sunburst to Madrone, which leads back to the beginning of Porpoise Point.  The circuit provides an easy and enjoyable addition to a visit to Sares Head.

Note that the lower portion of the Porpoise Point trail (beyond the junction with Sunburst), while well worth a visit, is considerably more rugged than the upper improved section.
