Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Franklin Falls by Bmoney_253

Hiked to the falls in the afternoon. We started at about 12:00pm and finished around 3:30pm. You’re walking along the road that the people use to access the cabins along the river. It was clear of snow for about 2.5 miles. The sound of the river alternates with the sound going down the pass. After here the snow is compact but was a little icy on our way in. I saw many different shoes/ boots. From Nike Air to rain boots. We had hiking boots and the traction definitely makes things easier. The actual trail is easy to follow winding along the river with some really nice views. We did put on micro spikes and yak tracks at this point. I can see it not being necessary for some but it definitely is nice to have for the small hills of compact snow and the last down to the falls. It could be slick and I saw a few people with wet butts from slipping. The parking was pretty full both sides of the trail maybe 30 vehicles. We passed many groups heading back from the falls on the way in. Probably about 10-15 vehicles when we finished. It never felt crowded and there are many places and opportunities to get a shot with the falls.
