We had a lovely walk along the outside perimeter of the park and along the beach. The few people we encountered were all in good spirits at the close of 2023. Lots of fungus to look at.
A big branch fell and took some other stuff down - a made a huge amount of noise. The alders are definitely at the end stages of their time in the succession of plant life in the park. The park staff are doing a wonderful job of keeping the fallen trees and branches clear of the trail.
The trail was muddy, but it was easy to keep the shoes clean.
