Bellevue Botanical Garden — Thursday, Dec. 21, 2023

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area
Cool dragon

Happy solstice! Garden d'Lights is back at the Bellevue Botanical Gardens until 12/31 (closed xmas). Tickets are not sold at the gate -- only online.

Our tickets were for 5:30, and boy was it crowded with children (expected). If you prefer quiet, or if kids aren't your thing, you might consider booking a later timeslot. We were two adults and a cat ($8 pp for adults).

The garden itself was brilliantly lit. The walking track was short, I'd guess less than half a mile. My favorites were the dragon, banana slug and snail. We walked slowly and were done in about 35 minutes.

Be careful where you park. It's dark out, and there are a ton of people driving crazy. The initial lot is likely to be full, so you might need to park at Willburton HIll Park.

I liked the dragon too, one of my favorites along with the herons and the owl tucked away in a tree.

Nice, the heron in flight was great. We went left at the owl and only got its backside :(
