Headed out with the kids (5 & 8) to walk the Snohomish County Park portion of the island. Saw lots of ducks and a few herons(?) (I think they were herons). Significant parts of the loop trail are overgrown, but not impassable. There were a couple of blowdowns to crawl over as well. The entrance next to the sewage plant is not great and very smelly. Not sure we will be returning to Spencer Island but glad we checked it out.
