A great trip to start off the season with. We started our loop by going up the Skyline Trail (towards the north) and boy was it steep. The trail started off crusty, passable with Spikes, but then quickly got softer, requiring snowshoes.
We had lunch at Panorama point and took in views of Mt. Hood and Mt. Baker, then proceeded down via Golden Gate trail, crossing Edith Creek via a small, but passable snow ridge, before getting back to the upper parking lot at Paradise.
The parking lot was about 15% full when we got there at around 10am, but was somewhat busier in the afternoon when we came back. Trail itself was relatively empty.
