Hiked this on a beautiful bluebird day. You'll definitely want to pick a clear day for this hike since it is a view hike. I arrived at the trailhead at 10:45am on Sunday. It's a small parking lot and it was already full; I got one of the last spots. I recommend a high clearance vehicle for the forest road since there's a few pretty deep potholes, but I did see two sedans in the lot so I guess it is doable!
Took about 3 hours to get up to the lookout and 2 hours to hike back. The hike itself is lovely. Great views the whole way once you're out of the woods. I recommend having microspikes and hiking poles; I put my spikes on about halfway through. I did see people without them, but they were moving pretty slowly and carefully. The snow on the trail was packed down; no postholing. I enjoyed lunch at the saddle, left my pack there, then scrambled up to the lookout (which took about 15 minutes).
