For those in search of golden fall colors, particularly the Western Larch, search no further. This area, blanketed in gold, is a must-see. The main trail is easily accessible right from the Lost Lake Campground; and the short loop trail leading to giant 900-year-old larch trees is ADA accessible.
Beware, however, of wandering these woods in late October, close to Halloween! As these three unsuspecting TuTu'd hikers learned, the stories of the Woodsy Witch of the Western Larch Forest are true!
