Great hike today! Quite steep but no significant class 3 scrambling involved and no exposure until a very brief optional mildly exposed traverse over to to the true summit. The exposure is like 10 feet and can be avoided by taking a trail around the backside of the false summit instead. Amazing views of snow lake, rainier, Stuart, adams and others. We had the summit to ourselves, only saw a few people all day. I have bad knees and wore knee braces and used my poles on the way down! Descent was painful and slow going in places but made it down fine. Watch out for the hornets nest 1/3 way up under a large boulder, can go climbers left around it.
what a fantastic hike!
