My daughter suggested this hike when she was visiting me. She and her husband and I hiked up to the lower lake.
The trail was rocky and steep, but in relatively good condition for a wilderness trail. The fallen trees had all been removed by the Spokane Mountaineers this spring. Thank you Mountaineers!
The first part of the trail is double track, and there were a couple of ATVs in the parking lot, but they went somewhere else. After a bit, the trail turns off the old road and continues as a single track to the lake
My companions continued to the second lake without me. The trail around the lower lake and between the two lakes was rough and difficult to follow. They said skipping that part was a good idea.
