The road is washed out .3 miles from the trailhead, not the 2 miles WTA indicates. Looks like the stream became a river with the snowmelt and overran its banks pretty badly and washed a ton of rock over the road and the nice new bridge that had been built. There's very little room to park before the washout, maybe space for 5 cars if everyone parks perfectly. Otherwise people will be lining up down the side of the road, which won't be great.
Overall the trail is in good shape with a few blowdowns and some snow to cross but nothing bad. Microspikes and poles would be helpful in a few short sections but if you're good kicking steps there aren't any rough runouts.
Virgin Lake is still completely frozen over and Blanca has an open chunk at the river exit but otherwise is also mostly frozen.
