A hiker on another hike mentioned Hidden Lake would be one we'd like. Well she was right. It's a short 2 mile RT hike in the cool of the shaded forest on an otherwise very hot day. There's barely EG, 260'. The trail is in great condition, no roots or rocks to speak of. The lake is quiet and beautiful with several areas to hang out along the shore. To go farther around the lake, you have to cross an assortment of logs that look a little sketchy over the creek that is the outfall for the lake. We didn't try it as we found a nice spot to sit and have a snack without crossing it. This was our backup hike when we found the heat too much at Icicle Ridge. It was heading toward 88 degrees so we bailed about half way. So off we went to find Hidden Lake. It's very close to Lake Wenatchee State Park but very quiet and serene. If you just want to stretch your legs and have a little time, it's not too far off Hwy 2 at Coles Corner.
