Mount Teneriffe — Saturday, May. 13, 2023

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
The last 2 miles

Hiked with a few friends. Arrived at the Teneriffe Falls parking lot at 8 am. Took the Mt Teneriffe trail which was clear of any real snow till the connector to Mt Si trail around 3800 ft elevation at which point there was pretty much continuous snow on the trail. The last 2 miles to the summit is pretty much in snow. Some minor post holing but mostly crossable with good boots and poles. Reached the top in 4 hours. The summit is snow free with gorgeous views today. Saw many younger legs come up the climbers route via Kamakazi falls. A few were carrying ice axes. They seemed to make it up OK. Snow was slushy and did not make for a nice descent. Total distance approx 14 miles with 4200 ft total elevation gain.
