Second little hike of the day. Google maps will take you to the right spot but I drove right by because it looked like a private driveway (see photo #4).
There were a lot of cars in the lot but I didn’t see a single person at the TH or on the trail.
The well cared for trail switchbacks pretty quickly down to the valley floor. There’s a fancy new bridge that takes you safely across the creek.
Lots of trillium, big trees and green, green, green. The “big tree” sure is big! Nice to spend a few moments taking it in.

The cars in the parking lot may have been related to a rehearsal at the forest theater. They will open on Memorial Day Weekend. I have been going to plays and hiking to Big Tree for 45 years. Always love the forest and the many big, old trees.
