Arrived to the trail head around 7:45am on a Thursday, and had the place to myself! That was due to the time, but also the weather. It had been raining all morning, but thankfully it stopped at the coast just as I arrived.
I love the short hike down to Second Beach. So many interesting trees with odd and weird looking branches. The steps down on the final approach are still in really good shape, despite the wear and weather. I had more colorful words for the steps on the way back up!
Only a few small logs to climb over, and then a very wide beach at low tide. Spent a few hours walking from one end of the beach to the other, exploring the tide pools and cliff walls. The tide was half way in when I was leaving, with large waves crashing against the shore. Very cool! About 10 cars in the parking lot when I left at noon.
