Great views on Mount Si last Saturday! I also encountered a WTA work party led by Jay Schram and Emily Snyder AND Search & Rescue (King County Fire Department and Seattle Mountain Rescue) going to rescue an injured hiker on the Talus Loop Trail. A hat tip to these volunteers who help keep our trails open and safe.
The trail becomes snowy around 1600 feet (after the split for Roaring Creek trail), and because of the high volume of users, the snow is packed down hard. I put on my microspikes for better traction and I also used poles. It's especially icy and a bit challenging at the very top ("ice chutes"?). Great views at the top.

FYI, the photo with the caption "Teneriffe" is the Haystack, which is the summit block of Mount Si.
