Trip Report

Little Si — Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area

Decided to take the little one up Little Si for a first mountain outing.  It’s been 8-9 yrs since I’ve hiked with a dog.  If you’re following the rules (leash, keep away from other hikers, poop pick up, etc.) it definitely takes extra work but adds fun and company on the journey.

Started after 11 am and got to the summit in under an hour.  No snow or obstacles.  The forest was green, lovely, and quiet since it’s so protected in the ravine like area which is the flatter trail adjacent to the climbing wall.  There’s a little mud in places but mostly perfect conditions.  Forgot some of the rocky step ups can be challenging which was apparent with a small dog.  Hung out at the very windy summit for some views of snowy peaks, had a snack, then headed down.  Saw maybe 20 people and a few other dogs.  The larger stream in the last 0.5 mile is running.  Nice outing on a spring-like day.
