Amazing trail! I’ve heard it was beautiful in the summer but I wanted to experience the fall foliage and this was the perfect hike to kick of the season! A little less than 1400 elevation gain but felt like so much less. I was very impressed with the ease of the incline. Fall foliage starts exploding about a mile and a half in (not counting trailhead beauty) and continue all the way down to the lake. Don’t forget to take the quick detour up Mount McCausland. I didn’t go all the way to the peak because I was running out of daylight, but I completed most of the way up McCausland. It’s worth it!!
Out and back trip with lots and lots of photos and videos made for a 3 hour hike.
